Carrier Description
Full buckle carriers, or “Soft Structured Carriers” (SSCs) are one of the more modern carrier styles with lots of variations and features. In general, most SSCs involve a waistband secured by a plastic buckle, a body panel (typically shaped with darts or seams to fit baby’s bottom in a tailored fashion), padded backpack-like shoulder straps, and a strap that connects the two shoulder straps together.
Depending on the design, they may be designed for front facing in, hip carries, back carries, or forward facing out, or any combination thereof. Some have extra features like infant inserts to fill the extra space of the panel for small babies, cinching mechanisms, hoods for sun shade and napping, pockets, etc.
