Click Here for the Dual Pouch Tutorial
Dual pouch slings are best known by the brand name, Baby K’Tan. They are essentially a stretchy wrap that is formed into a completed carry, so it doesn’t require any “wrapping.” They are made up of two closed loops of stretchy jersey fabric and a third sash of fabric to create a three-pass carry over baby.
Like pouch slings, these have little adjustments available to them so they should be sized carefully to the wearer.
Like stretchy wraps, these are only suitable for three-pass front carries and tend to be best for newborns and small infants; most people find their support lacking past 10-15lbs or so.
The tutorial above utilizes t-shirts to make the loops so there is no sewing required. The loops CAN be made with seamed loops, but it can be harder to size them correctly, and jersey can be hard to work with to make good, safe, weight-bearing seams with. If you attempt, make sure you use a reinforced seam (like a french seam) and a ballpoint needle.
