A pouch sling is a simple single layer carrier with no adjustments – just a diagonal “pouch” worn across the body to support baby against the wearer’s chest or side. To use safely, a pouch sling must be sized carefully so it properly supports baby’s spine, since there is very little that can be done to adjust the carrier otherwise.

A common brand name of pouch sling is Seven Sling. These slings are useful in their ability to fold up incredibly small to tuck into a bag or purse as an emergency backup carrier.

The Mobius Sling was a concept developed by Olena Blumberg as a pouch sling with a single twist built in to help cinch the top rail behind baby’s neck with a shoulder flip while allowing the back of the sling to remain spread wide over the wearer’s back for good weight distribution.
